The General Election for Councilmembers for the City of Cameron will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Candidate filing opens on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. The deadline for filing for Council is Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.
General requirements of a candidate for council are: at least twenty-one (21) years of age prior to taking office; a citizen of the United States; and, an inhabitant of the City of Cameron for at least one year next preceding the election.
The three-year terms of Becky Curtis and Alexander Williams are expiring. Also, the unexpired, one-year term of Julie Ausmus must be filled. Candidates must select which term they are filing for at the time of filing (3-year or 1-year term). Candidates may only file for one term.
