About Our Government
The City of Cameron is a third-class city with a council-manager form of government. The City Council is elected by the public to set policy and pass ordinances and resolutions for the City.
The Council appoints the City Manager to run the day-to-day operations of the City, prepare the budget, and manage personnel. The Council also appoints the City Clerk, who is responsible for council meetings, all municipal records, and other duties such as collecting taxes and managing the cemeteries.
