To: The Residents of the City of Cameron

I wanted to ensure all the residents of Cameron and the surrounding areas that I will relay the current information regarding the Coronavirus issue. As of today’s date, the following updates from the Clinton County Health Department (with guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC)) the Missouri Supreme Court and the Cameron Parks Department are in effect:

Clinton County Health Department:

  • Every person in the State of Missouri shall avoid social gatherings of more than ten (10) people.
  • Every person in the State of Missouri shall avoid eating or drinking at restaurants, bars or food courts; provided, however, that the of drive-thru, pickup or delivery options are allowed throughout the duration of this order.
  • People shall not visit nursing homes, long-term care facilities, retirement homes or assisted living homes unless to provide critical assistance.
  • Schools shall remain closed.
  • This order does not prohibit people from visiting a variety of places including grocery stores, gas stations, parks and banks (Check with your bank for possible special instructions prior to visit) so long as necessary precautions are taken. These precautions include maintaining at least a six (6) feet of distance between individuals that are not family members. Individuals shall practice good hygiene and, where feasible, work from home in order to achieve optimum isolation from COVID-19. The more that people reduce their public contact, the sooner COVID-19 will be contained.

The Supreme Court of the State of Missouri also issued an order today suspending all in-person proceedings in appellate and circuit courts which includes municipal courts. To that end, Cameron Municipal Court will not have any proceedings during the month of April. The Court will contact all citizens by mail who would have appeared on one of the April dockets to advise them of their next court date.

The City understands the critical role outdoor recreation and open spaces play in mental health and wellness. The City of Cameron Parks and Trails will remain open. The restroom facilities, however, at these locations will be closed for public safety. The Park Board recommends the following when utilizing the parks or trails:

  • Do not use playground structures at this time.
  • Refrain from using parks/trails if you are exhibiting symptoms.
  • Follow CDC guidelines for social distancing & personal hygiene.
  • Prepare for no access to restrooms/fountains.
  • Limit use of picnic tables & shelters.

The City continues to provide basic services and thanks the citizens for their cooperation during this stressful time. Information can change quickly so please check our website ( and Facebook page ( regularly for updates. Don’t hesitate to contact City Hall at (816) 632-2177 if you have questions or concerns.
